We went to the court lawyer's office two days ago to file our petition to adopt "V". The lawyer asked us if we are changing his name and what the new name is. We hadn't talked to "V" about it, but after months of debating at home, we told the lawyer "V's" new name is Justin Frank Greer.
When we met at the orphanage, we told "V" he was getting a new name and asked if he liked it. He was so excited! He kept saying, "Me, Justin!" Everytime we see him, he repeats his new name for us. He finally gets it that we are not just visiting, that we are going to be a family, something he has never had.
Our interpretor came to the orphanage last night to explain the adoption process and when we are leaving for America. When we sat down, the first thing he asked was, "okay, when do we leave?" He had been asking us "zofstra?" (tomorrow) everytime we were together and it's obviously the million dollar question on his (and our) minds. We cleared a lot of things up and explained to him about "D", which was confusing him about leaving.
James 1:27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

Still praying for D and that her brothers can all get the family they deserve! Glad V likes his new name! Z goes back and forth with us, asking that his immediate family call him Z, his Ukrainian nickname, and everyone else call him T, his American nick name, neither are his legal name (before or after the adoption!) I told him I will love him no matter what his name is!
